Barley was the first cereal crop to be culti-
vated. Its use predates the development of
writing. The Egyptians and Greeks believed
barley to be a sacred gift from the gods.
Barley has been valued for centuries as a
food staple.
Barley Grass is specially grown without the
use of herbicides or pesticides. The tender
young grass is harvested before the grain de-
velops. All the benefits remain in the leaf
instead of being used to generate the grain.
Immediately after harvest, the grass is dehu-
midified at low temperatures to preserve the
healthy goodness of this dark green grass.

Barley Grass was probably the first cereal
grain to be cultivated by man. The cultiva-
tion of Barley was well advanced when writing
was developed, and written crop reports have
been found in Egypt that date back to 2440 BC.
Barley was a sacred grain to the Egyptians and
Greeks, a gift from their Gods. The Chinese
were cultivating Barley in 2000 B.C. Barley
was one of the first crops planted in the
colony of Virginia in 1611.
When harvested as a young grass before the
ovule begins to move up and the grain to de-
velop, Barley Grass has a nutritional profile
more like that of a green leafy vegetable than
that of a grain.
This Barley Grass is grown in the winter and
early spring on the Midwestern plains. Matur-
ing slowly and tempered by the weather, natu-
ral Barley Grass has a greater nutritional
value and a lower sugar content than Wheat
Grass or Barley Grass sprouted indoors in a
warm environment.
Immediately after harvest, it is dried by a
special process that uses dehumidified air
rather than heat to remove the moisture.
This process retains twice as much chlorophyll
as conventionally dried products.
100% whole leaf powder, using the natural
plant fiber and other benefits of the whole
plant, are used, having more fiber content
than bran. Some products use only the dried
juice of the Barley Grass. These products typ-
ically dilute the product with lactose, brown
rice or arrowroot as a carrier of drying a-
gents. We give you the whole plant--nothing
more, nothing less! Grown only on farms that
use no chemical sprays or pesticides.
Contains no lactose or other milk products.
RECOMMENDED USAGE:
Stir 1 to 2 heaping teaspoonsful of powder
into cold water or other beverage as desired.
